OGC Leeds Report: October ‘06
Having now been up and running for over a month, OGC Leeds is
going strong, having seen a total of 6 players with 5 of them now
being regular attendees of our Friday meetings. Each week, the
group is meeting for RPG night and they are currently getting stuck
into a custom Dungeons and Dragons campaign, being run by
myself. There has been other gaming too, with the main game of OGC, 40K, being played
alongside this. We have introduced OGC Leeds regular player Wojtek to the game and his
feedback has been positive. He now looks to make an impact with his vast Dark Angels force
and is already looking impressive with them.
On the social side of things 4 of the OGC
Leeds group journeyed to far off London to
watch the only UK appearance of German
metal band Blind Guardian, who were
supported by the Astral Doors. The gig was amazing, seeing one of
Europe’s great metal bands on a small stage when they are used to
playing to sold out arenas on the continent. We even got to meet the
band afterwards, and Tim fulfilled a lifelong dream of meeting Hansi
Kirsch, the lead singer of Blind Guardian.
In other news, Wojtek and Inga got married in a civil ceremony at
Leeds Town Hall on October 14th. The pair regularly attend OGC
Leeds’ RPG nights. We also enjoyed an alcoholically indulgent night
out for Tim’s 22nd birthday on October 13th; a time we shall hopefully
be recreating for honorary OGC member Abby’s 21st in November.
