“The Clouds Burst” Saturday 20th September 2003 – Monday 22nd September 2003  In Brief In a follow up to the Tournament 1st and last would ally against 2nd and 3rd place players basically High Elves and Dwarves Vs Empire and Tomb Kings. Add into the mix some Blood Dragons and 6,000 points a side and battle was joined! Force 1 Dwarves commanded by Simon Gray with a 2,500-point force High Elves commanded by Andy Townley with a 3,500-point force Force 2 Empire commanded by Mike Brandon with a 2,000-point force Tomb Kings commanded by James Brown with a 2,500-point force Blood Dragons commanded by Luke Greensmith with a 1,500-point force Story In the regions south of the Black Mountains, Ardenian forces were searching for a Tomb King who held an item vital for the quest against the destroyer. As they journeyed south they were set upon by a Blood Dragon vampire but were spared upon learning of their quest and the vampire was impressed by the honour and fealty of the Arden troops. Having knowledge of the Tomb King they sought out, the vampire suggested that helping in the war against Nagash troops might win a council with the Tomb Kings. However as they ventured into the new river estuary were the crumbling city of the King they sought lay, an alliance of Dwarves and Elves set upon the stranded forces of Vampire and Man, obviously seeing the unholy alliance as some from of great peril. As battle broke out the Tomb Kings force arrived, intent on driving out the invaders, but understanding the shared hatred of Nagash and Chaos with the defending forces formed an unwritten alliance. The blood dragons true purpose also became clear, two sleeping dragons had emerged from their slumber and now was an opportunity for the vampires to purify their soul. Highlights Empire artillery and magic kill the elven Archmage and High mage The Elven Cavalry is annihilated when it is counter charged by Tomb King forces The 1st dragon is slain by the Vampire Lord and Empire knights Undead and Empire forces completely control the Western side of the field Dwarves and remaining elves attack the town in the south east driving off some of the Empire forces, the remaining dragon loses its rider to magic The dwarf artillery in the North East hills is destroyed  Empire Spearmen drive off the dragon on the outskirts of the town Town is then occupied by dwarf forces, Undead ambushers in the western forest are driven off Tomb King cavalry cross the river into the North West to surround the dwarf held town but are held off by crossbowmen defending the hills Sword masters are almost annihilated holding the pass between the river valley and the town Knights led by the Vampire engage the dwarf hammerers in an attempt smash through the dwarf lines and recapture the town, the dwarf lord is miraculously saved by the a master rune under a ferocious Vampire attack Final Score Tomb Kings, Empire and Blood Dragons – 3406 High Elves and Dwarves – 1010 Undead and Empire Solid Victory Story The dwarves were driven off and the elves all but annihilated. The vampires had drunk the blood of the dragons and saved their souls. The Khemri forces left the field ignoring the Arden troops but leaving a mysterious artifact waiting to be collected in the blood soaked ground.
