![]() Senior Election Results November 2005
The fourth seniors term sees a shift in power as Andy Townley joins Luke
Greensmith on the Seniors board as Simon Gray loses some ground in the voting.
Of course Simon is likely to still be heavily involved with the major decisions and
events in OGC (after all, you get out what you put in!) but the major onus is now
on the elect to ensure a smooth running of the winter events. Currently scheduled
is a 40k survival horror scenario that sees Guardsmen trying to escape a zombie-
infested city, this event being run by Luke Greensmith. Simon Gray is also looking
to run a Warhammer based event called Vermintide with details to appear on the
site soon, this being a prime example of how non-seniors can still organise and
run events in OGC. Of course that means eyes fall on new Senior Andy Townley
to put together his own running for the winter period, although continued
development of the website is likely to be seen as enough for the moment. Luke
Greensmith is also planning a Video Games based event for the winter, again with
details to follow. The seniors will also have to plan for the Easter event, the
success of Dissidence last year demands a repeat in 2006, this being the chance
for grudge matches, Tournament preparation and socials as everyone gets
together for the final time before the Tournament.
In the elections themselves, Luke Greensmith picked up a healthy 78% of the
vote, an advance of 16% on the elections in May, a nod towards his help in
spurring the OGC Edge Hill group that have been very active on-line. It seems
that Andy Townleys advance (66%) is on account of the website development,
the site has become the hub of OGCs running and we all have Andy to thank for
that. Simons decline on the other hand, down 18% to 44% is likely due to his
distance form the core of OGC and the so far unsuccessful attempts to kick-start
an OGC group in Leeds. There is the beginning of something there though so it
seems that Simon will be bouncing back for the next elections. James Brown also
made a re-appearance with him being off the voters minds for the least election.
The next Seniors board meeting will be in later November/ early December and
anyone is invited to come along and have a say and even vote on most issues,
keep watching the site and OGChat from more information.

Luke Greensmith
Simon Gray
Andrew Townley

[Note a new percentage system has been put in as the previous one understated the actual relative votes numbers!
Basically because of the double voting system Luke obtained 39% of the total vote, but this is quite confusing so
this is doubled to make an insular score. This is basically because the OGC voting system is a little weird, see the
Senior information document on the website for more information.]
